Criteria

Applicants must be a member of the AAP, may be residents of any country, and must be accepted into a North American psychosynthesis training program taught by a teacher or trainer acceptable to the Scholarship Committee; the criteria for being an "acceptable" program shall be:

  1. The program must be primarily a vehicle to teach/train psychosynthesis principles and practices, and be located in North America.
  2. The program must include both theoretical lessons and practical experiential learning. Portions of the program may be via electronic media or phone. Programs may be either in-person or distance learning.
  3. The program teacher must be a person recognized by the Scholarship Committee as being competent to provide the teaching and training.
  4. The program's content must be approved by the Scholarship Committee. The Committee shall not comment upon specifics of the program, but must either approve or not approve the program; if it does not approve the program, the committee shall provide reasons to applicant and program teacher(s).

Applicants must provide

  1. Name, address, phone number, professional status of applicant.
  2. Name and address of the program, dates of the program, and evidence of the applicant's acceptance into the program.
  3. A one-page explanation of why the scholarship is sought, particularly explanation of financial need. Applicant may include a most recent year's tax return if desired (overall figures pages only with SSN and other confidential data blacked out, and not including schedule of details), to support the explanation..
  4. Explanation of the sources of additional funding for the program that will supplement the AAP Scholarship so that the applicant will have full monetary funding, work-exchange, or scholarships to attend and complete the program.
  5. The name and credentials (including psychosynthesis training) of the teacher(s) in the program, along with a syllabus or approximate syllabus of the program and the financial cost of the program.
  6. Written recommendation of the applicant by the teacher/trainer.

The application will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and a decision will be made within 30 days of receipt of the application, provided all documentation has been received by the Scholarship Committee. Notice of award will also be made simultaneously to the Steering Committee.

Payment of Funds

Payment of the award will not be made in advance: The teacher/program must agree to accept the Scholarship payment from AAP upon the applicant's successful completion of the program. The award is void if the applicant does not successfully complete the program, or that portion of the program for the year for which the scholarship is intended to fund.

The award of the scholarship will be made directly to the Program via check issued by the AAP Treasurer upon successful completion of the program by the applicant, and notice thereof from the Director of the Psychosynthesis Training Program has been received by the AAP Steering Committee.

Note: there is some flexibility in this program's requirements and procedures. Applicant may request variations in application data and conditions of award.
