AAP Psychosynthesis Quarterly – Update
Dear AAP Members,
We have received some excellent articles for the forthcoming issue of the AAP Quarterly, which we aim to publish by the end of June.
We will publish these on the Articles and Essays section of the Synthesis Community Mighty Networks over the next few days, and we invite feedback and comments from members of the Community on them. Please keep the feedback constructive!
We intend to adopt this process for future editions of the AAP Quarterly. People should continue to submit articles in the way they always have, by sending them to the email address newsletter@aap-psychosynthesis.org. Once received, provided they are not legally or otherwise problematic, the articles will then be posted on the Mighty Networks for discussion. From these, we will make a final selection of articles to be used in the Quarterly Journal.
Creating dialogue
There are several benefits to this process. We hope this will stimulate discussion and dialogue within the Synthesis Community Mighty Network. And by making the network a hub for discussion about Psychosynthesis, we hope to attract membership from across the wider Psychosynthesis global community.
We also hope this will create opportunities for a dialogue around the contributions to the Quarterly, and stimulate new articles and topics for discussion. It will also provide a way for articles to be peer-assessed before they are published in the Quarterly journal, which will support our overall aim of improving the quality and rigour of the journal.
Our intention is also to streamline the process of gathering and selecting articles for the Quarterly. At the moment, articles are submitted to a range of email addresses making it difficult at times for editors to keep track of what has been submitted, and also for our contributors to know whether their article has been accepted for publication.
Enhancing scope and quality
This is part of a wider process to enhance the scope and quality of the Psychosynthesis Quarterly, which will be made available across the global Psychosynthesis community. We hope over time that we will be able to include a wider and more structured range of contributions from the various Psychosynthesis institutes and schools.
We will retain a Quarterly theme for each issue, but also be open to other content (both academic and creative) that is not directly relevant to the theme, as well as the usual range of book reviews, event write-ups and advisories.
We have other ideas about how to develop the journal, including building in a more formal peer review process, and perhaps also creating an Editorial Board to review articles and make recommendations. We welcome your suggestions and comments on this.
