What is Psychosynthesis?

Psychosynthesis is an inclusive approach to human growth that dates from 1910 and the work of the Italian psychiatrist and psychotherapist Roberto Assagioli. He recognized the need for an inclusive system that would help humans come together within themselves as well as with each other and their world. Assagioli – and an increasing number of psychotherapists, educators, physicians, social workers, clergy, and others – worked to develop and refine this inclusive view of human growth: a task which continues today.

AAP is staffed entirely by volunteers who form the core of the membership. We have a network of individuals who are dedicated to advancing the principles, methodologies and values of Psychosynthesis around the world. Our members have diverse backgrounds and include therapists, coaches, educators, creative artists and scientists.

We welcome new members from any background with an interest in Psychosynthesis. Each year, new discoveries in psychology, new developments in education, religion, anthropology, physics and other disciplines, add to the principles and to the techniques of Psychosynthesis. By its very nature, Psychosynthesis is always open to new approaches to human development.
