We here at the AAP hope all of you are well and safe - and that no matter where you are, you are observing safe "social distancing" practices in these uncertain times. It's a perfect time to have your voice heard. Please consider contributing to the quarterly!
The Great Unraveling is the story told by scientists, journalists, and activists to draw attention to the disasters caused by Business As Usual in our global profit-centered political economy. They give evidence of the on-going derangement and collapse of biological, ecological, economic, and social systems. In fact, the living systems of Earth have been unraveling for generations. Under colonial expansion and rule, indigenous, brown, black, and impoverished communities have carried the weight of the unraveling for centuries. Refineries, mines, and toxic waste have been sited in and near their communities, with direct and lethal impacts on the health of the people.
Now the climate itself is unraveling world-wide and the sixth great extinction of species is underway. Hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and wildfires, amplified by global warming, leave millions of people without shelter, food, or potable water. Bee colonies are collapsing. Whole ecosystems are being destroyed. The COVID-19 pandemic has spread to every corner of the Earth, leaving death, trauma, and economic hardship in its wake.
Military operations, conflicts, and corrupt governments, as well as famine, and drought, drive staggering numbers of refugees to flee for their lives across borders, often to be turned away, incarcerated, enslaved, or consigned to refugee camps for years on end. State-sanctioned violence against BIPOC and those protesting racism reveal the extent of systemic racism in many nations around the world.
What does psychosynthesis have to offer to people facing this Great Unraveling? How can psychosynthesis address these huge challenges and move us toward a Great Turning to a truly life-sustaining and just society? We invite articles, exercises, poems, and artwork addressing these and related questions.
Firm Deadline for Submissions is August 1, 2020

We welcome articles from all who study, teach, coach, counsel, and play with psychosynthesis.
We hope our suggestion of from 250 to 1500 words may serve as a guideline that helps your writing. We prefer that you use the APA style guide when possible, for things like punctuation and references. Articles should be submitted in word.doc format with all images sent as jpegs or pngs attachments.

Richard Lamb lives in England, UK, working part-time as a Psychosynthesis Coach and Hypnotherapist, working with people in a 'Life Transitions Coaching' context since 2014.
His Call of Self began in earnest when he travelled to Sicily for a Psychosynthesis conference, where he met Didi Firman, director of training at the Synthesis Center in 2016, and proceeded to deepen his psychosynthesis training by signing up to the Synthesis Center's Transformational Life Coaching Program in fall of 2016.
Since certification in 2017 Richard continues to integrate Psychosynthesis throughout his endeavors. Richard now brings his perspectives on “deep time” through his experiences as an archaeologist and ancient environmental change researcher, focusing his attentions on the role Psychosynthesis can play in the growing eco-psychology movement, and the Great Unravelling, through his collaboration with Molly Young-Brown.
