Finding the Deep River Within
How to tame your to-do list and find depth in everyday life.

Live Workshop :: October 2018
led by Abby Seixas, M.Ed., LMHC

Beneath the busyness of our daily lives flows a deep river of creativity, passion, silence, and, among other things, a place of contact with ourselves and what matters to us.

Although ‘the deep river’ is a powerful source of nurturance, the fragmentation and sheer pace of life in 21st century America often buries this deeper dimension under the perpetual-motion surface of our days. This workshop is about slowing down to reclaim your balance and bring more sanity and soul back to your daily life.

Based on the her book, Finding the Deep River Within: A Woman’s Guide to Recovering Balance and Meaning in Everyday Life, Abby Seixas will introduce the three preliminary doorways and six core practices that can support you in allowing your own deeper currents to flow through daily life.

This full weekend includes a day-long Saturday workshop open to all interested community members and an optional Facilitator Training for helping professionals offered on Sunday. The location for this workshop is in the bucolic Pioneer Valley, along the Connecticut River in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, a perfect backdrop for accessing your own Deep River Within.

Location: Hadley, MA

A little context:

Like it or not, everyone is a part of the universal will and we must somehow tune in

and willingly participate in the rhythms of universal life. Roberto Assagioli

The world is facing significant changes, and we stand at a threshold. The time is now to move beyond the familiar patterns and silos of our thinking, training and disciplines. As interpersonal neurobiologist, Dan Siegel, speaking at Garrison in 2011, put it: “as long as self is defined as a singular noun, the planet is cooked”.
Since then, this limited definition has proved to be an unhelpful driver in multiple spheres – a phenomenon that reminds us of the deep interconnections between perception, meaning, consciousness and will, and the vital power of presence and community.
In this moment, we are called to remember our deep belonging—to each other, to the Earth, to the Great Mystery of life. It is essential that we come together to forge pathways of resilience, courage, and kinship; to explore soulful ways to navigate these uncertain times, weaving creativity, wisdom and will from our shared vision of a more connected and whole world.
Join us! as we gather at the Garrison Institute in the spirit of synthesis to ignite our passions, inspire new dreams and build community for 2025 and beyond! This event is more than a conference, it's an immersive and experiential gathering to tap into the deep, transformative work of Psychosynthesis and related disciplines.

    • What is being asked of us now, at this critical time, both individually and collectively?

    • What does the future hold, and how can we help shape it?

    • What new collaborations may be required in these times, and how do we best support these?

    You Will Experience:

    • International Presenters & Experiential Workshops

    • Psychosynthesis Street Fair, Dialogue Groups & Conversation Circles

    • Festival, Arts, Music, Ceremony, and Nature related activities

Along with keynote speakers, panel discussions and experiential workshops for the summit, there will be a range of creative events and activities in and around the Garrison retreat center and its beautiful grounds. There will be plenty of time to deepen ties with Psychosynthesis friends and colleagues from around the world.

"Out of the past, in the present, for the future" - Roberto Assagioli
